I must say that since the past few weeks, your artwork has really improved and it's nice to see your evolution as an artist. This is a huge step up from your previous works. I'm quite impressed to see such fast improvement, actually.

I will start by saying that for future reference, it is spelled "artwork" and not "art work."

now that i said that, I guess i'll start by critiquing each individual picture.

The first picture looks great. i like Willie D's pose and how he has his hands in his pockets. that was drawn well and i couldn't do better myself. Something you can work on though is the color of the guy on the right. he has... green skin? that's okay, but the building in the background is the same color as his skin.

the golden background rule is: the background has to be brighter than the characters or darker.

backgrounds need vanishing points
vanishing points are basically points in the artwork where you can see where the perspective sort of disappears

you should look at pictures of roads, maybe you'll see what i mean by "vanishing point"

The second picture is good, though the color of the sky has to be brighter or darker than the color of Willie D's shirt.

In the third picture, Dexter's head is a little too big. the fourth and fifth pictures are good.

the hand in the sixth picture can be improved. there doesn't appear to be a wrist. when drawing hands keep in mind that there's the arm, the wrist (important) and the hand, otherwise it will look a little odd.

in the 7th picture it's the same pose for the third time, i suggest redrawing it maybe?
in 8th picture the guy on the right's head is too big.
9th picture - where is his feet?
10th picture - i can see what you're trying to do, you're trying to make dexter walk towards the camera, though he has to be further away from Willie D to accomplish that look

11th picture - the hat looks weird. you may wanna go to google images for a guy with a backwards cap for reference material.

**tip: reference material is a must for everything!! if you can't draw something, learn how to draw it and get reference material**

12th picture - Willie D doesn't look the same here
13th picture - cute

this was a jam-packed slideshow at 13 great pictures all full of variety.
it's a great showcase of your artwork and i like it better in a slideshow than in the art portal. it's more convenient like this.

never give up
keep trying

good luck in your future endeavors!

Thanks buddy i wont give up

Very nice.

Normally, I don't like flashes like this, but the animation was just so nicely done and the song at the end was a very nice touch.

Good job.

GermanFonzie responds:

Thanks for the kind review<3

I think the art looked a little mechanical, mainly because you used the line tool. I'd like to suggest that you add varying line thicknesses to your animation. Even though it may seem arbitrary and useless, it's really a major factor in making your animation look more polished and less mechanical.

Some of the colors looked like you got them off of the default color palette, so they didn't necessarily look good. It's comparable to something a kid can make on MS Paint using the default colors.

The time and effort put into this is obvious, and I can appreciate little details like the freeze-frame gags.

Some of the screenshots you put in there like the screenshot of Audacity were very low-quality. I'd suggest making them higher quality, though that would probably increase the file size a lot.

Overall, this was a nice fun music video, but the animation could use some improvement.

classicbread responds:

thank you for the review mr. misty

This was hilarious. I really enjoyed the humor here. You did a very good job with the writing, and I bet the score would be much higher if the animation was a little more polished and the presentation was a little better.

I liked the storyboarding and the way you set up the scene, though a lot of the animation (arm movements) were stiff. Some of the character designs looked awkward like they could be improved upon.

Some of the characters were a bit simplistic. Simplistic isn't necessarily a bad thing though, as some cartoons like the Powerpuff Girls are very simplistic in nature. But what they lack in complexity, they make up for in style.

The voiceovers seemed like they could be pretty good, but the voice was too deep. It felt like you went into Audacity and changed the tone of your voice to something ridiculously low for no reason. If you need variety in voice acting, just go to voiceacting.proboards.com - I bet there are a lot of voice actors there willing to voice for your cartoon!

Hmm.

Did you animate this by yourself or did you trace it from the original Hellbenders episode? If you did it by yourself, kudos, this looks exactly like it, the only issues are the timing. If you traced it, I'd like to suggest that as an artist, you try to come up with your own conception of the original Hellbenders walk cycle.

The screen blanked out at the end, by the way, before it repeated itself.

nickmsantoro responds:

Yeah sorry I really messed up on timing and stuff :p

Very good. Please read the whole review though.

I liked this cartoon. It showed an improvement because you drew the inbetween drawings. However there are still a bunch of things you have to do before you can truly be a good animator.

- Your characters have to look the same all the time. Willie D in here looks very different from normal Willie D. His hair is bigger and his leg is fatter.

- You might want to make that green door brown, nobody I know has a green door

- The movement has to look like it's moving naturally, sometimes he moved too slowly

- I couldn't hear Mitt Romney because of the music playing

- Sometimes Mitt Romney blacked out

- I liked the fact that you tried to animate, it's a big improvement

OVERALL this was a big improvement from your other cartoons

RogersEntertainment responds:

Thank you very much i am really touched

Almost 12 full minutes.

And they're all great. The classic Willie D intro accompanies some very nice Willie D cartoons.

- Willie D Voice and the one with ChuckSoup? Enjoyable.
- Both Willie D rumbles? Suspenseful. Especially the one in Tokyo.
- Nice comic strips.

RogersEntertainment responds:

Thank you very much youre an awesome Fan

A nice compilation of toons.

With this video, we can enjoy each toon with a new, cartoony soundtrack added to it. In addition, with the new video player, we can now navigate through it better.

How did you get the video player by the way?

When it got to the GoAnimate part I was like "yesss yesss"

The part with the guy dancing is gold, comedy GOLD.

good job Willie D you made this average Monday night become an excellent Monday night!

RogersEntertainment responds:

Thanks i working so hard on this Im to be a big Star i not giving up on you guys <3 Willie D

Beautiful.

I laughed, cried and was reborn. This movie provided me with a new outlook on life as a whole.

Frenzy responds:

Thank you kind sir, for your inspiring words. I am glad this Flash has provided you with such joy and revelation.
